I was more than a little disappointed by the presentation of this one - the adventure is essentially just 3 combat encounters. 2-hour adventures don't need to be entirely combat-focused, and by cutting some combat there's more than enough space for some of the other pillars. I had to do so much prep work and write so much additional content to make this an actually interesting adventure that it almost wasn't worth buying it in the first place.

What's there is clearly written and interesting, and the cyst fight is pretty fun, but the rest.. eh.

This is another solid tier 2 adventure. It's more combat focused than the others in the series, but still builds on the past adventures well.

The plot twist will make more sense if the group has played the others, but the adventure is good about summarizing the key points. It's straightfoward enough to run without much prep as well.

The final battle can be a bit too easy for an optimized party, in my opinion, but the Cyst adds some interesting mechanics and it's not too hard to scale.

A great conclusion for the T2 trilogy in Chult. The encounters are memorable and the final boss fight can be really challenging even for higher levels characters. The module would have been perfect with a few more descriptions on the environment, it would fit perfectly as an introduction to Ruins of Matolo.

I wouldn't recommend running this adventure as a standalone, as the narrative tension was quite enjoyable for my players coming directly from DDAL07-07 and DDAL07-06. My players were wary of the Cyst after their previous experiences with the collapsing temple, which I got a kick out of.

a great ending to the trilogy and leaves the players wondering what will happen next.

I've run it 4 times and it never runs less than 3.5 to 4 hours. Straightforward and good for combat focused characters. Be mindful of the Barrels' ability to drop low level characters

A nice end to the trilogy. I admit it doesn't have that Gargantuan Zombie T-Rex fight from Rotting Roots, but the Giant Ape encounter makes up for it.

All in all, one of the nicer storylines in DDAL.

Much like the tier 1 modules, it brings an end to the trilogy but not with a great amount of satisfaction. A full party of 7 will probably find the final fight too easy, and players might need some guidance on how to actually destroy the Cyst. It's probably also got the hardest secret missions for characters to complete, as it makes all the fights throughout the module more difficult if members of the Order of the Gauntlet or the Zhentarim are present.

This is a fun module but runs long, especially if you include the faction secret missions. Give yourself 4 hours rather than the listed 2. The module has an awakened giant ape way up in a tree throwing rocks. I wondered where the rocks were coming from. I finally decided that the rocks were very smelly and splatter all over whatever they hit. My players found this very amusing. The addition of the Zhent secret mission made this a very difficult fight and it is not scaled for APL. Watch out that you don't overpower the characters. The temple of Ubtao wasn't that tough because the wizard fireballed the trees and 2 kamadans but one shotted the trees because they were vulnerable to fire. But the Order of the Gauntlet secret mission was extremely tough because of a lack of magic weapons for fighting the Clay Golem. This could potentially be a TPK if you don't watch out. I had to have the party do a long rest on the mountain top before going onto the Cyst because they were so drained fighting the Clay Golem. If you aren't running the secret mission, it shouldn't be a problem. I didn't have any Lords Alliance players so we didn't have the Cyst shooting but it could be disasterous for a party longterm because of the death curse and permamently reducing the maximum hit point total. The secret missions make this scenario potentially too difficult particularly for a low APL party.

great end to the t2 story but plays better in a 4 hour time slot

Organization of the module not as good as others. Also took more than 2 hours of play as others had said. Would recommend fleshing it out to 4 hours or streamlining to better ensure 2 hours of play.

Over all, this adventure was okay. I felt a disconnect between the events of part 2 of the trilogy and this one. I understand that the same players might not play both, but there wasn't any way to connect them if they had. Some guidance would have been nice. And again, took longer than 2 hours to run. And it puts players under the Death Curse despite taking place after the Soulmonger has been deastroyed. Why?

This is not a two-hour adventure particularly if there are characters that belong to one of the factions that add extra encounters.

The time line is strange here because there is a piece of the soulmonger in this adventure, but it takes place during the death curse.

The final encounter can be very challenging particularly if Ullal uses the staff. One Wall of Thorns down the hallway will really set things up.

Very bad module. It contains part of soulmonger, but Death Curse is working. Author fail timeline with Spellplague and Chult. Special missions look like "i need insert something, no matter what". Fights not interesting. Girallon by rules of 5e cant be awaken - its not a beast. "Tha bad guy" from previous adventure become an idiot who said characters where they can find him.

This review is for the DM-quest for the important characters because the rules 8 season is bad.

I liked the options on the way to the shrine which should help replayability. Overall the temple was a nice environment bottlenecked by the map.

The final encounter was not memorable but I would expect that running this multiple times would help in knowing what needs tweaking to make the scenarios more of a challenge.

I expect to run this fairly often because I think it has potention that didn't come out on the initial run through.
