The Warrior Queen is part of the Lost Classes series from the Devil?s Workshop / LPJ Design, a range of supplements that provide new prestige classes for D&D/D20 fantasy based on common fantasy (or should we say, super heroic) archetypes. This supplement is four pages long (three after you drop the OGL) and has a fairly clean layout with a single piece of art.

The Warrior Queen is just that, a lead from the front, high fighting inspirational commander, who is female. The prerequisites for getting into the class are fairly light, and an 8th level fighter should be able to take this PrC with no hardship. At the minimum, a roleplaying requirement -such as having won a famous battle or defeating an infamous foe- should probably be added.

The Warrior Queen gains abilities related to both sides of her title, both superb combat skills (D12 HD, full BAB, various combat abilities, including Deflect Arrows naturally) and improved command skills (leadership bonuses, giving resistance to fear). Unfortunately, the abilities the Warrior Queen gains are simply too good, even without the command skills, the Warrior Queen would be superior to a fighter under most circumstances. With their command skills, they are not only better than a fighter but they have an army to back them up.

The Warrior Queen builds off a classic heroic archetype, but it ultimately makes them too super heroic. While a good concept, the Warrior Queen class is simply too powerful as written to be balanced in most campaigns.

QUALITY: Disappointing

VALUE: Disappointed
