Myrr 5e Campaign Setting (World of Myrr)

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The World of Myrr mirrors our world! Political upheaval and natural disasters are coming! This is Myrr (MEER), the first of nine continents in the World of Myrr. Myrr was known as a peaceful place...not anymore...

Oswald Myrr, a legendary wizard, has changed the world forever. The political and natural balance has been upset by his sizeable intellect.

On the continent of Myrr, the vampires' alliance with the devils is the biggest threat to peace. Powerful leaders in the cities of Wyld and Stonehelm are making aggressive moves. The bandit lords of the Southern Territories are threatening to move north. Even the serene, elven Nerathian Kingdom has been infiltrated by dark elf spies. In the Northwest, many are worried about the might of the Barbarian army. Many shadowy thieves and monks are making folk nervous. And then there are the orcs, goblins, giants, and dragons!

However, there is some hope for peace. The true knighthoods stand up to evil, and honor still has its place in the Fighters' Guild. Some wizards on the Wizard Council have their hearts in the right place. The most powerful forces of good might well be the Inner Sons monk brotherhood or the warrior clerics known as the Ro Gard.

Updates coming soon. We're going to update this continent book soon and we're working on the last six continents to finish off the entire World of Myrr. The continent books for Ma Zaan and Naern will also be updated.

We've added a lot of lore to our new Monsters of the Wilderness book (available on this site) about the World of Myrr. Still working on a larger book that will include all nine continents.

Hello, I printed off the region maps and attempted to stick them together into a larger, more detailed map of Myrr. However, it seems that the sizes of the region maps differ quite a bit and overlap with some areas not matching nearby regions. I was wondering if this because the region maps are meant to be used separately? If so will there ever be versions which can be put together to create a large map of Myrr?

Yeah, the original maps were meant to be used separately. However, two things you could do. Use the high res map of Myrr that comes with the setting, that resolution will enable you to zoom in anywhere. This is what I do for our weekly group. I cut out a section and then blow it up. Secondly, we're starting a Patreon page shortly where you can expect new maps and improved versions of the old maps. Follow us on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram or at www.worldofmyrr.com BTW there are seven more continent books coming, only the first two (Myrr and Ma Zaan) are on DriveThruRpg. A map of the entire world is also finished now and will be available shortly.

Hi, first off great product, I'm using this and all your other products in my sessions. On page 89 there is a picture that covers the text of the factions "The Uldan Empire (Dwarves), & The Uprising". I can see the start of the text but the picture covers the rest. Is this a printing problem on my end? Trying to set this up for my groups campaign world. Thanks in advance

Thanks Michael. We missed that when our editor went through it. Know to edit the editing now. Fixed that issue, touched up some of the formatting, and cleaned up the Table of Contents. Updated.

We can look at doing a HD pack of maps. The next continent is done and will be released in a couple of weeks. Hope to do two more this year. The full map of the world with all nine continents is almost done too.

I am starting a Myrr campaign next week. An HD map pack, especially one that includes towns and cities, would be amazing! I'm really looking forward to running the campaign.

It looks interesting. Unfortunately, it's too inconvenient for me to use an RPG product of this size with "copy/paste disabled."

Hey James, it's the headquarters of one of the bandit clans. Other art in the book showcases the clan's griffon riders.

I remember this from Kickstarter. I was pretty disappointed that it didn't meet it's minimum. BUT I'm happy to see it here!
Do you have a sense for when a print edition will become available?

Thanks for your interest Jamie V. Yes, we are a small but determined group. We are trying to get the Myrr book formatted for printed versions. Look for smaller products to come and the other eight continent settings! The Game Master's Guide should be out by the end of February.

Looks intriguing, but I have a couple of questions.
From the previews and all, it seems as though the setting as presented in detail is limited to a temperate area - is that so?
And, if the above is true, are you planning on releasing supplements later that add other areas/climates?
I ask this because, for various reasons, I like having the options different climates offer in a setting.

Thanks for the question. Myrr is quite diverse. The northern third is a colder, snowy region. The Barbarian clans live in this area and there many monsters unique to this part of the continent. The southern areas areas are warmer, with sharks in the oceans for example. The numerous encounter tables reflect these climates as well. You might have noticed there are no deserts or jungles. However, there are eight other continents in the world and they have more extreme climates. We will be putting books out for those settings as well. Our plan is to put out three more settings this year.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
