The Unicorn’s Crown is designed for first level characters, and will take them to level three by the end. The encounters are all designed to be run for a party ranging in size from 3 to 7 players.

A crime has been committed, a very personal theft from the Crown Prince of Taralos. Our heroes must track down the perpetrators and unravel the mystery and conspiracy that lies behind the theft. They will interview witnesses, dive beneath the streets and track fugitives through forests and hills. They will face natural hazards, traps, and villainous gem gnolls before finally the truth is revealed and the future of the kingdom lies in their hooves.

To Found an Empire explores the world of Everglow just before the formation of the Pony Empire. Our heroes will see the Kingdoms and tribes that came together to form it and maybe even experience that transformation themselves.

The description would benefit from saying the expected length. Is this a one-session game or more like one of Pathfinder's "modules" that could take 2-3 sessions?

Module, sorry for the confusion.

What made you choose the formation of the Empire rather than a period after its formation?

The author is not me (David Silver) for a change. The author followed his own inspiration, and this happened.

I'm the author. :) I was thinking of potential plot lines for a Ponyfinder module and what eventually turned into The Unicorn's Crown pretty much just appeared fully formed in my head. The nature of the story (can't really go into details without spoilers although they're fairly minor) doesn't really work in empire times so that was the initial reason for considering a pre-empire setting.

Once I started looking at pre-empire though I found it to be full of potential for some really interesting plot lines and situations. The world before the empire is full of rivalry and peril and the formation of the empire itself is a time of huge change and upheaval. What was before turning into what came after, these changes allow for really interesting and dynamic stories to be told. The world will not be the same after "To Found an Empire" finishes as it was at the start and this is the chance for people to experience those changes and not just witness but play a pivotal role in the world being reshaped....See more

Officially I can say that we welcome stories from before, during, and after the empire. They're all exciting times to be a part of Everglow! We don't fear paradoxes, much.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
