Tallow's Tipsy Tales

Introduction:
"Greetings adventurous traveler! I'm Halston Tallow... yes, the Halston Tallow, celebrated bard of the great ballad, accomplished explorer, educated scholar, seasoned drinker of fine beverages, renowned critic of the best food that the taverns of the realm have to offer, and winner of many a heart of an adoring tavern wench... yes, that one. Ahem. Anyways, I welcome you to sit down here by the warmth of the hearth while I provide you with much wisdom in regards to excellent food, strong drink, and good times. While I must admit that I could write a much better guide in my sleep, the loss over what I assumed was to be a mere, friendly card game has forever associated me with this terrible bit of work. As curses may be, my name and likeness are doomed to forever grace the cover and pages of this pitiful tome. Such is life I guess.
However, my own desperate fate aside, I wish to welcome you to this guide of tavern potables and other useful snippets of lore, inspiration, and knowledge. While the author will never match the knowledge that I have over such things, I must admit that he's at least made half an effort... for a stumbling, tipsy novice of course.
Never the less, my suffering of such a loss of chance aside. I bid you a hearty welcome along with a goblet of wine or a draft's worth of a pint into your tankard. Do sit back, enjoy your meal, drink your share, or feel free to light up a pipe, because we have an assortment of beverages to discuss..."

Ever found yourself as a tavern keep tossing out the same old endless varieties of generic beverages to patrons who are simply bored to death with the same old selection? Feeling the pinch of loss of interest on your tavern or inn's profits? Want to spice up those faded out parchment menu lists with a bit of newly stocked drink? Have a craving to pour something a bit more interesting into those tankards, goblets, snifters, and small cups?
Well, you've come to the right place!

Tallow's Tipsy Tales is a collection of numerous assorted drinks found throughout the fantasy realm. A very small sample of such drinks is included below:

Aldermure Blush (sparkling wine):
"Aldermure Blush... it has always been, and always will be, a ladies' drink in my opinion. Granted, I've went several rounds of this stuff with lass or two, but it is not my favorite. A flowery drink, I guess you could say, at least that's how I feel about it."

Aldermure Blush is a pinkish orange, heavenly carbonated wine that is a growing popular favorite in the better taverns and inns across the realms. Though originally considered to be a drink favorable only amongst the ladies, Aldermure has quickly crossed gender boundaries in the finer coin-wage earning circles. While one is not likely to find many field laboring, dirty peasants or scarred, battle worthy folks partaking of the drink, the wine happens to be also quite popular amongst the more decadent, adventurous patrons.
Aldermure Blush is the result of years of tedious mixing and blending of the fruits of different grape vines. Before the recipe was perfected, it was decided that in order to achieve the absolute taste desired, elements of pear and raspberry needed to be added. And thus the wonderful drink that is Aldermure Blush was created. A bubbling concoction to be served into the goblets of the wealthy, the poetic, the dreamy, and the wandering decadent of the various known lands of the realm.
Origin Notes: human/temperate wooded meadows
Typical Costs: goblet: 5 copper coins, pitcher: 4 silver coins, barrel: 45 gold coins

Feldenglaize Elven Amber (elven amber ale):
“Feldenglaize, like most elven drinks, is enormously popular, especially amongst those who can afford it and love to show such wealth off as much as they can. My opinion of it, however, is that its a bit dry for an ale and lacking in flavor overall, especially for an amber ale. The elves should stick to the wines, something that they are far better at.”

Feldenglaize is an elven produced ale that is light golden amber in color, heavily carbonated yet with a surprisingly light head, and a distinctively dry finish. As with most elven drinks to be found served within human inns and taverns, prices tend to be a bit expensive for this drink. Despite as such, however, Feldenglaize tends to be favored more by artisans, poets, and minstrels than aristocrats and wealthy merchants.
Origin Notes: elven/temperate wooded meadows
Typical Costs: tankard: 2 silver coins, pitcher: 5 silver coins, barrel: 55 gold coins

Ostensibly penned by a bard noted for his enjoyment of alcoholic beverages, here is a fine collection of carefully-developed drinks to have on hand whenever the party drops into a tavern. Each drink has not only a name but Talloow's own tasting [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
